Seo Link Pro Review

SEO Link Pro Review
SEO Link Pro is a new piece of SEO link building software that was released mid July 2009 which I bought shortly afterwards. This page was last updated on 17th June 2010 to cover the latest release of the software.
I then created this Hub Page thinking I could review SEO Link Pro and perhaps sell a few copies... that did not quite work out though!
Read on to learn more about what this product does, and does not do...
What Is SEOLINKPRO?
SEO LinkPro was hailed as the next big thing in link building by its creators over at Syndk8.net, promising to harvest links from "anywhere and everywhere".
The idea was that you would load up your target sites, tell it how many links you wanted it to create per day, click "Start", minimise it to your taskbar and leave it whirling away in the background dropping links to your target sites.
When I say it is a link building tool, what I mean is that it is a link spamming tool, similar to Bookmarking Demon et al.
Where does SEOLINKPRO Get Links From?
Like Bookmarking Demon SEOLINKPRO can gather some links from social bookmarking sites, however, at time or writing these are confined to just three platforms, Mr Wong, Reddit and Fark. So, in terms of social bookmarking it cannot do anywhere near as much as Bookmarking Demon can.
Howerver, SEO Link Pro has a few more tricks up its sleeve, it also drops referer spam to try and get links from stats packages like AW Stats and AW Stats. What this involves is spoofing traffic to sites that have open stats packages that link to their top referers. You can read more about referer spam here on wikipedia.
Referer spam is not very effective, I suppose it may get sites indexed but it is unlikely to help that much in terms of ranking a site.
More impressively SEOLINKPRO can also drop links in guestbooks, forums, wikis and a few other CMS (content management system) platforms. This means that SEOLLINKPRO can exploit tens of thousands of targets, not just the 60 or so social sites that Bookmarking Demon can target.
Anther key feature of SEOLINKPRO is that it has been built around a modular extensible framework, meaning that support for more applications can (and will) be added on an onging basis. This is a pretty smart move commercially on the part of the authors as they plan to sell plugin packs for the software, meaning they can keep generating revenue after the initial sale. This is actually good news for the customer though, as the developers will keep working on the application after they have taken your initial payment! It also means that there is incentive to keep adding more platforms and value adding features that users will be prepared to pay for.
Does SEO Link Pro Work?
As mentioned, SEO Link Pro was released July 2009 and was a complete ball of chalk. It was full of bugs, absolutely horrendous.
Following a brief period of de-bugging it seemed the developers lost the will to live and all went quiet. Then in June 2010 they announced a complete rewrite, and a migration of the back end database to MySQL.
Now things are 100% better than they were, however, I think the application still falls a long way short of what was promised.
Since the MySQL rewrite / upgrade things are certainly a lot more stable. The application can be left in the taskbar for days at a time. Furthermore, it will actually post links day after day. The old version NEVER seemed to post links properly on the second day.
So, yeah, its a lot lot better than it was... but it is still not a very useful tool, certainly not compared to Bookmarking Demon (which is far cheaper) or a popular Russian product which is a lot more expensive.
The reason it is not very useful is:
1) Low success rate. It reports "1000" links since app start, but in reality only a fraction of those are actually present.
2) Low Quality, as discussed, these are the worst links you will ever acquire, on spammed out pages, grim stuff... but that goes with the territory with this kind of tool... it is used by spammers to promote spammy products.
3) Low volume. Neither issue 1 or 2 would be such an issue if you could "turn up the volume", drop more links to compensate, but you cannot. Sure, you can tell it you want 99999 links per day, and set it to run on 45 threads, but it has little effect. Even on a dedicated Quad core server with a 100mbps network connection pretty well straight into a backbone it has never reported more than 16k links in a 24 hour period, and usually reports a lot less than that.
Remember this is reported links, not actual.
After a couple of weeks running this at 1000 links per day on a test site, Yahoo reports 80 links, and a phrase matched search in Google, i.e. searching:
"mydomain.com"
Returns 287 results, these are mostly from broken links where the url is printed to screen instead of being inside the link, or on sites that strip out html, again, exposing the url rather than inserting the link.
4) It is no use for secondary linking. One way in which tools like this are useful is for creating secondary links, for example, backlinking sites that link to you. So, I loaded up 400+ URL's into a csv file and imported those, hoping to give all these urls a little help indexing. The result was that the application ground to a halt and started crashing again. I deleted that project.
Should you Buy SEO Link Pro?
The current price of this software is $289.
In terms of the work put into this tool and its potential, that would seem a fair price, but, in terms of what it actually delivers, then I would not buy it at all, not even for $50, it is simply not worth investing time in using the thing.
If you dont use it, it is not worth a penny is it?
If they sort the issue with speed out, so that it can drop more links then it would be a viable proposition, and I would change my stance on that... but for now, its not worth a dime to me...
Alternatives to SEO Link Pro
ScrapeBox: Currently the best buy on the market. It will harvest proxies for you, help you scrape SE's and drop blog comments. If you search around you can find this for $57. I would not recommend using mass commenting to get links, and I do not use scrapebox to build links (though you can do this). Scrapebox has a myriad of other uses besides being a comment spammer, Its extremely useful if you know what to do with it.
Bookmarking Demon: I bought this when it was on promo for $47 and it was a load of crap, I was not happy. Since then it has grown into a very powerful application, currently priced at $147 and worth every penny.... it does some of the more popular bookmarking sites as well as Pligg, Scuttle and PHP Dugg sites. For the money its still the best backlinking tool on the market. Im glad I bought that one!
AutoPligg: is a good product, but since BMD now does Pligg sites it does not add that much value. As a Pligging tool, it is unsurpassed, much better than BMD, but, with the majority of pligg sites now reduced to burned out spam repositories it does not add much value.
SE-Nuke: Its a frigging joke for the monthly price.
Evo II: Its a frigging joke for the monthly price.
Magic Submitter: Out of the three monthly priced products, this is the cheapest at $67 pm. It may just be worth that. Its a lot more robust that SE Nuke, a lot cheaper and a lot easier to use. It does not have as many targets as SE Nuke, but you do have the ability to add your own targets to it... not bad, but I dont like monthly fees. A years sub on this is gong to set you back more than the cost of ScrapeBox, BMD and "the Russian one" combined, there is no way that MS is worth more than those three combined. In fact, MS is not worth as much as BMD on its own.... but, if you want something "extra" its the best of the three monthly subs.
The Russian One: If you are looking to spend a big chunk of money on a tool for mass linking this remains the daddy. Claims that SEO Link Pro was going to kill off "The Russian Thing" were ill judged. The main issue with the Russian product is that you need a dedicated server, to get the most from it, and a lot of time figuring out how the blasted thing works.
In Conclusion:
For most affiliates / link builders, ScrapeBox and BMD are the ones to go for.
For a "top up" Magic Submitter may be worth it for a month or two before cancelling.
For the hard core maniacs the Russian thing is remains un surpassed.
Comments
Not great at the moment, but its getting there. I think they released it a bit too early and there have been a few problems with it... but Im sure they will get it sorted shortly, they are working on it.
Any updates?
Thank you I have been looking for reviews of seolinkpro all over and this seems like the only honest one. I was still looking for a bit more info though, but oh well
Great review. I was expecting to find links all over it for these products, but it looks clean and just genuinely useful.
Thanks Mr Backlinker, yes its clean, I get sick of reading "reviews" which are nothing more than a desparado effort to pimp worthless crap, or regurgitate what others have written about the same old product.
I would like to promote SEO Link Pro as this page ranks well on related terms... but I dont peddle crap.
Hopefully they will get it to the point that it is worth using the thing, and then Ill add an aff link to it.
Just out of curiosity, what is "the russian one". Is that the name of it?
No, it is called Xrumer, there is a wikipedia page on it that is worth reading.... I am doing a review of Magic Submitter on hub pages too, that will be up shortly.
Ahh, got it. I know about Xrumer, just didn't catch the reference. Thanks again for the excellent review.
Thank you very much for this honest review.
You killed this review men.Nice job. Was wondering why you don't advise using scrape box for back linking, because that is basically what I need it for. Would appreciate your input.
This helped save me some $$. Thanks for sparring me from SE-Nuke.
Well, to be honest seo link pro sucks. It sounds great, a piece of software where you can enter the amount of links you want and it does everything is a great idea. Heres the truth. EVO 2 is a complete steal and a waste of time. Its no where near as good as senuke. Senuke and xrummer remain the best softwares in the world for seo. Starting off with senuke then blasting wht web2.0 props with xrummer. Senuke is worth the money if used correctly. Im going to pickup scrapebox now, seems worth it. Thanks.
I think the Russian thing is definitely Xrumer. =)
@Jamie,
TBH I dont think SE Nuke is wroth the money at all. IMHO the best software of that typle is Magic Submitter. Tough, all are dependant on frequent updates...
You may be right that SE Nuke is not worth the money, however, it is a quality piece of kit. Very easy to use, very effective, lots of options and though it needs a little time to set up it is set up and leave. Once you have an article in syntax form you are made up. Have tried most things and I go for SENuke without exception.
